"Yeah, and he's multi-talented, and on top of that, he sings. And another thing, Jimmy will come and get a person like me, and say, let's go. There are keyboard players out there, as far as I'm concerned, that can play circles around me, but Jimmy said, naw, you work for me.

The biggest compliment that man has given me was, he said Man you play the keyboard like my mother, you play your cords just like my mother.

And Jimmy has taken me with him for forty years, he hasn't deviated from that, it's gonna be Jimmy Brown and Brick, and we're gonna make it."

OUR ​MISSION

"Well, you know, the only way I can explain that is, me being me. You know, I've always been a very humble person, that's just me.

I don't believe in being flashy, a flashy type of guy, you know, that's saying I'm this or I'm that it's just being yourself. That's the only way I can explain myself, and that's me, that's Jimmy. Jimmy will always be Jimmy, I will always be the way I am, you know."

THE ARTIST

CURTIS: We seriously did talk about this day, we talked about ​this day, and when Jimmy came to me and said, we're going to ​be a duo, I like at him like he was crazy, man. Two mics, a duo, ​man are you crazy, I don't play the keyboard like this, he said, ​come on man, we can do it. We got together and Jimmy taught ​me ten songs and from that point, we are where we are now ​because Jimmy believed in a vision he had and he never lost ​sight of that vision, never lost sight of that vision.

"Oh, yes sir. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what breaks up a ​lot of the sound, a lot of getting up doing a good job ​because now you got egos, people are jealous of ​something. God put us all on this Earth, and he gave us ​all talents. Like somebody like Jimmy Brown, I'm not ​gonna get up there and solo like that man solo. God ​gave him something like, it's like that house up on the ​hill, you can't help but see it. Jimmy is a master soloist, ​but for me to get up there and think I'm going to match ​him, ain't gonna happen. But for me to get jealous, I'm ​just jealous for no reason, because that's a God-given ​talent."
